Titre de Jazz Normand

Sugawa, un groupe avec un titre normand.

The bright tone of Sugawa's soprano saxophone contrasted well with the richness of Hikosaka's alto saxophone, the warmth of Arai's tenor saxophone and the deep sounds of Tanaka's baritone saxophone in the opening piece, Suite Francaise by Darius Milhaud. The five-piece suite, originally composed for a brass band, was arranged for four saxophones by Kenichiro Isoda. Each piece bears the name of a region in France. "Normandie" is an upbeat march, "Bretagne" is a slow, jazzy ballad featuring a melody on the baritone saxophone, "Ille de France" is fast, locomotive music, "Alsace-Lorraine" is intensely elegiac and "Provence" is made up of a series of danceable tunes.
